SCHOOL CLINIC
Louisville Girls High School, Itele, has a standard Clinic known as "Mount Carmel Clinic". It was commissioned in 2010. It provides twenty-four (24) hours nursing care services administered by qualified and competent professional health workers.
The objectives of the school clinic are:
- to provide quality health care services for the students thereby ensuring good health and safety for them;
- to give prompt and adequate first aid in emergencies;
- to quickly detect conditions that could spread among students and forward to hospitals with specialists and equipment to cope and carry out relevant investigations; and
- to purchase and administer original medications for the students.
AMENITIES AND CAPACITY
The school clinic, which is situated in a central place in the school compound, is equipped with the following:
- eight (8) bedsteads in the Open Ward and six (6) in the Isolation Ward with air conditioners;
- a pharmacy store as well as the store where the drugs administered daily to some students are kept;
- an air conditioned waiting room with water dispenser;
- Matron’s Office; Nurses Station; Computer Room; Bathrooms and conveniences;
- a well-equipped Laboratory with an experienced Laboratory Technician; and
- functioning water heaters, oxygen and nebulizers should there be emergencies.
Louisville Girls High School Clinic partners with a Specialist Hospital as well as an Eye-Care Centre in the town of Ijebu-Ode in order to ensure proper medical attention is given to our students.
Our Clinic also has an arrangement with a health care company that, with the permission of the parents, vaccinates our students against some killer diseases.
